About Apostolic Ministries,
Hanover PA
Apostolic Ministries of Hanover PA is a church modeled after the ministry of the Apostles in the Biblical book of Acts. Our church actively preaches the gospel, carries out the Great Commission and experiences the demonstration of the spirit as described in the book of Acts.
We have lots of fun worshiping, singing and fellowshipping as a church family. We’d love you to join us!
The Apostolic Ministries Pastors preach the word of God, declaring God’s plan of salvation and the importance of applying Biblical principles to daily living. We always want to set a standard of Christian distinction in our culture and equipping believers to carry out the Great Commission.
The congregation members are encouraged to reach out to their friends, family, and community, demonstrating the love of God in every day acts of kindness and generosity, and to look for opportunities to pray with people. We encourage all to share their own testimony of God’s work in their life and study the Bible together.
Our church has been part of the community since 1989. The church was born when Pastor Wayne Hammonds and his wife Sharon started Apostolic Ministries in a room rented at the North Hanover YMCA. Many people throughout our community have experienced physical healing, Biblical salvation and a renewed hope through the power of God. We give thanks to God for his great love and grace!
We have 12 key Ministries and something for everyone. We’d love to be able to bless you through one or more of these ministries.
Our Beliefs
We believe that the Holy Bible is the word of God and contains the plan of salvation with instructions for Christian living (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe in The One Almighty God, the Creator of everything, who has revealed Himself to mankind in many ways down through the ages. Three of which are Father to us all in Creation, Son to us in the redemptive period (the Cross), and Holy Spirit to us now in the church age. Not three Gods, nor three persons, but One God who is everything that anyone could ever need Him to be. He is a jealous God who will not share His Glory with another. Exodus 20:1-5, Isaiah 42:8, Matthew 4:10.
He created the world all by himself. Isaiah 44:24, Colossians 1:13-19
He is the only Savior there ever has been or ever will be. Isaiah 43:11, Acts 4:10-12
He is the first and the last and beside Him, there is no God. Isaiah 44:6, Revelation 1:17-18
Our belief is that the Church is commissioned to preach and teach the gospel to every person. Those who believe and are baptized will be saved (Mathew 28:19, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38) and receive power to be witnesses of Jesus Christ to people everywhere (Acts 1:8), that each believer should be involved in the work of the Ministry, be unified in faith (Ephesians 4:11-13), grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18) and live in a way that demonstrates they are Christ’s ambassadors to this world (1 Peter 2:9-10). We believe in assembling together regularly for church services (Hebrews 10:25). We believe that praise and worship should be lively, energetic expressions of joy and thanksgiving (Psalm 150).
Our Mission
As the unified body of Christ, dedicated unto God, our purpose is to passionately teach every individual God’s complete plan of salvation according to Acts chapter two. Furthermore, through love, worship, and a commitment to prayer, we will disciple them to live a holy consecrated life unto God, continuing in fellowship as a body of believers.
Apostolic Ministries reinforces Biblical values and principles which help our youth thrive in their families, communities and personal lives, ensuring they become the future leaders of the church. Matthew 28:20 “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
We Follow The Great Commission
The Great Commission is based on:
Matthew 28: 19 (KJV)
Mark 16: 15 – 16 (KJV)
Luke 24:47 (KJV)
Matthew 28:19 (KJV) – Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Mark 16:15,16 (KJV) – And he said unto them, Go ye into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Luke 24:47 (KJV) – And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
THE GREAT COMMANDMENT: The Lord Jesus Christ, approximately 2000 years ago, gave to His disciples the two greatest commandments–Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these (Mark 12:29-31 KJV).
THE GREAT COMMISSION: Jesus also gave to His disciples the great commission as found in the final chapters of the books of St. Matthew, St. Mark, and St. Luke. This study delves into the great commission so that we, His living Body, the Church of Jesus Christ, might fulfill His call as stated within that commission.
